Graduate Show

Once a year the new graduates present their final project to Norman Foster and the Design board. It is prepared an exhibition and all the people from the office can see the work of the new graduates.

It is a very interesting experience because you can get to discover what the people from the other uneversities and countries does and see how different can be the approaches to architecture.

This year we did it in 2 days. 5 people from my team did it: the first day Richard and Go, and the second day, David, Huasop and I.

With laptop and internet connection! :-)

Almost 2 months without being able of comunicating with the world, too long time, too many things to tell,...

At the beginning of November Lucia came to London to visit me, we had some nice days together: Portobello market, party at Andres's, Camden,... She has been the first friend from my village to came to visit me, let's see if some more will come soon,.. you are all invited! :-)

One week later I went to Venice with Julia. It was the last weekend of the Biennale de l'Architettura. Nicola, who has been living in Venice for many years, prepared some nice maps of Venice showing the best places to eat, to go out, to visit. It was great, but the best of all was to see the Sun again after 2 months without seeing it!

Two weeks later I went to Madrid and I had a lovely weekend with a friend who is working there at the moment. We went to see Caixa Forum, we went to El Retiro where we took a boat in the lake, we went to La Casa Encendida,... Madrid reminded me the days that I shared with the Urban Bodies almost 3 years ago,...

And just before Christmas, the Christmas Party, the group 6 one with Secret Santa and the F+P one with Santa's hat decoration competition. It is always great to have a relaxed time with the collegues and some drinks,... dance, chat and have fun.

And now,... I'm back to Pedreguer, visiting family and friends, eating well and resting a lot!!! :-)

Halloween and longing for the Sun

Let's say that the winter has arrived, it's getting cold, very cold,...

Weeks and weeks without seeing the Sun, darkness is increasing and the clouds are blurring my mind,...

Deadline after deadline, 23 hours non-stop at work, jet lag,...

Missing the light of my region, missing feeling the Sun caressing my skin, missing walking up to the mountains with my friends and smell the rosemary, the thyme, and contemplate the sea over the valleys between the mountains...
The last time that I went there was raining so I couldn't go although I was wishing to disappear there for a few hours, to feel the immensity of the nature and clean up my mind after so many months in city. It was not possible the last time that I went,.. but I'm sure it will be possible the next time!!! so,... Lluís, Josep, Hector,.. get prepared to come with me to the mountain!!!

Lately I've also started missing Barcelona, and above all, my people from Barcelona: Marta, Raul, Marina, Kim, Carles, Manel, Jordi, Monica, Mar, Roser, Meri, Gemma,... Now, not only they are still in Barcelona but more friends are there: Pau, Carmen Paula, Maika, my cousin and my sister!!! So I feel that I should definitely go and visit them. It has been already about 9 months since I haven't been there and that's why I've already bought the ticket to go!! :-) It won't be for many days, but enough to revive the years that I lived there. It won't be until February that I will go there but I hope to see you all there!!!

Today my good friend Teresa has told me 2 sentences that have made me think a lot. They represent the way to live that I used to follow but that lately I was trying to unconsciously forget, and when you listen to that, the clear sentence: "it's better to regret something you've done than regretting having done nothing" and "there is no future without present" you suddenly start to see things clearer. Today she has been my ray of sunshine that has moved some clouds away from my mind. Thanks boniqueta to be always there!:-)

9 d'Octubre at home and how hard is being back to London,...

Friends, the ones that are always there no matters what, meeting them, meeting my family, my little cousins that have grown up, Alba starts talking and I guess that the next time I'll see her she will already be walking.

I met a friend that I've been around 7 years without hearing about her, she was studying with me at the conservatory, now she is an opera singer and a pianist. She was giving a concert and I went to listen to her. It was very exciting to see her again.

Go to the river with my sister and Teresa, swim under the clouds in the fresh water of the rain, give presents and experience the rhythm of the life over there, so different from London,...

Great weekend surrounded by lovely people, it was hard to say goodbye again.

Back to London I've had to deal with some problems at work, and I've had to work hard, very hard,... we had a deadline on Friday and I've had to bear with so much pressure and stress, awful!

Now I feel that there is something changing in my life,.. I'm taking important decisions, closing a period of my life, ending with something that has been consuming a lot of my energies and I hope I am making the right choices. I feel better in a way even though it is a pity that things have to finish like that but sometimes it is the only way,..さよなら
